Johan Schlüter Law Firm (JS) is one of the few law firms in Denmark that specialise in the legal issues associated with sports law.
For many years, JS has been advising trend-setting specialty associations under the National Olympic Committee and Sports Confederation of Denmark (DIF), sports associations and clubs, agents, players and players’ associations on various aspects of sports law. JS also acts as legal adviser in an increasing number of sports law disputes referred to sports commissions and tribunals as well as the courts.
Within rights management and sponsoring, JS is a leading adviser on sponsorship contracts and drafting of same, and JS assists in exploiting sports rights on television and the Internet, etc.
JS has built up considerable expertise in national and European gambling law, which is an important source of finance for Danish sports.
Attorney Lars Halgreen, PhD, has published several books on sports law issues and chairs the Danish Sports Law Association. Lars Halgreen is also an external lecturer in sports law and international sports law at the University of Copenhagen. In addition, the international sports law court in Lausanne in Switzerland, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), often uses Lars Halgreen as arbitrator.
